Contrary to what the title of this book may seem to imply, the book is divided into two main parts. The first half of the book is addressed to the aspiring photographer who needs to prepare for the whole process of recruiting nude models and photographing then.
But the second half of this book is specifically addressed to the aspiring model who needs to begin planning her modeling career. That is why this book is recommended for both models and photographers alike.
That being said, both models and photographers should read the entire book because each should know the role or expectations of the other and you will become a well rounded professional.
PART ONE
PHOTOGRAPHER CANDIDATES
CHAPTER 1
Preparation: You have probably heard the old saying that if you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail. There is a lot that can go wrong and this is not a subject to take lightly. You have to have the right attitude, the right equipment, be well organized, plan your shots and have a vision of the total subject before you enter the modeling and photography industry. It goes without saying that reading this book is definitely your first step!
CHAPTER 2
The Four Flags: In order to be successful, you are going to have to become four different people. An Artist, Webmaster, Businessman (Business Person if you prefer) and a Salesperson. Each of these things are represented by The Four Flags and these are the figurative flags that you will need to learn about from this book.
CHAPTER 3
Keep It Legal : This is not a category that you want to mess up. Obey the law, follow my specific recommendations and stay out of trouble. This book is worth it's weight in gold for this chapter alone.
CHAPTER 4
Recruiting: The great thing about recruiting nude models is that you can get to the place where you don't need to ask women to model in the nude for you because eventually, they will be asking you to be photographed in the nude. But this is ONLY if you master the first three chapters before attempting anything mentioned in the 4th chapter. If the 4th chapter would work without the first three chapters, I would have saved us both a lot time and just written the 4th chapter first. This is not one of those books where you can just flip to the part you want to learn about and omit everything else. This is a training program that requires a progression from start to finish in the correct order. If you don't do it this way, you will get into a lot of trouble. Read the book from the beginning to end before embarking on your new adventure.
CHAPTER 5
Make Money: Photography is a big hole that you can throw a lot of money into. Even if it is a job that you wouldn't mind working for free, it is a lot better to have your work at least pay for itself.
PART TWO
MODEL CANDIDATES
CHAPTER 6:
Different Kinds Of Modeling : So you want to be a model. Could you be a little more vague? Runway model, figure model, body model, pornography model, adult film star, actor/singer: they are not all the same. The differences are discussed in this book and you will need to make some decisions before your first modeling assignment is scheduled.
CHAPTER 7
Deciding to become a model: What are the benefits of nude modeling? What will your friends and family think? What does your church have to say? In this chapter you will probably want to pick up a King James Bible because I'll show you a lot of things that the bible really says about nudity. You might be surprised. These are all things to think about before deciding to become a nude model and a huge reason to read this book.
CHAPTER 8
Be Taken Seriously: This chapter discusses a lot of things like artistic expression, the decision to get breast augmentation or not, taking the time and effort to learn your trade, professionalism, establishing a presence on the web and starting your own web site.
CHAPTER 9
Find Nude Modeling Work: This is where I discuss how to get hired as a model, make money and enjoy your profession while avoiding the pitfalls. There are weirdos out there so you will need to think about self defense, bodyguards and stay away from drugs and alcohol. I'm not talking about a nice glass of Chardonnay with supper once you are safely home, (without getting graphic) I'm talking about dealing with all the potential of running across someone who does not have your best interests in mind.
CHAPTER 10
Extra Naked Stuff: The reason that this book exists is because back when I wanted to break into the nude photography industry, there was no such book as this available. So over my first five years, I had to learn a lot of hard lessons through trial and error. Being hte nice guy that I am, I have taken all of the learning from my first five years and put it all into one book so that you wouldn't have to go through anywhere as difficult of a time as I did.
If you are thinking about getting into the nude modeling and photography industry, this book is worth it's weight in gold! Some of the thinks I share in this book might even save your life!
